How to pick the right instructor to become a lash artist
What’s the correct way to go about becoming a lash artist? You need to have proper certifications. Most people usually have two major routes to pick from. They can either go to aesthetic schools, institutes, or universities, or they can work with certified lash artists who are recognized by these institutes.

When picking between the two options, most people end up working with the artists because they are either nearer or more affordable than the courses offered by aesthetic schools. However, there are a few things you should know about when you’re learning directly from a lash artist.

PICK YOUR TEACHERS WISELY
Most lash artists offer classes but some of them start doing so as soon as they’re out of school themselves. What this means is that they don’t have the necessary experience which can justify this. Unfortunately, most students who want to learn don’t know this, which is why they end up signing up with these artists.

It’s only when they have paid these tutors that they start to see that they are not as experienced as they might have pretended to be.

I can talk about this from personal experience I don’t want you to go through. I was straight out of aesthetic school and I didn’t have the money to sign up for another course for lash artists. So, instead, I took the first class being offered. I trusted the teacher because she also taught in an aesthetic school.

Unfortunately, she had just graduated from her own lash classes and started teaching right away. However, you need to have at least 2 years of experience to understand the process, mistakes to avoid, and more.

GETTING CLASSES FROM CERTIFIED LASH ARTISTS
It’s a good idea to look at the teacher’s work before you sign up with them. Additionally, look at their work experience and if they’ve been teaching for a while. I have over 5 years of experience as a lash artist and teacher and I am still getting certifications for different lash courses.
